Mr. Mahan was a Route Salesman for 35 years for the Frito-Lay Company. He was a veteran of the United States Army, having served during the Korean Conflict. He is a member and one of the founding fathers of Maryland Point Baptist Church in Nanjemoy, MD. In his retirement, he worked at the Nanjemoy Community Center. He enjoyed reading the Bible, gardening, was an animal lover, and most of all enjoyed being with his family.
He was son of the late Claude H. Mahan and the late Lola V. Castle Mahan. He was precede in death by his parents, one brother, William J. Mahan, and one sister, Emma L. Vanhooke. He is survived by his wife of 50 years, Geraldine Hayes Mahan, two sons, Pastor Clarence A. (Cari) Mahan II of Alabama and Mark S. Mahan of Jacksonville, N.C., six grandchildren, LaToya, Mark, Gerry, Jasper, Caleb, and Camden. Also survived by two great grandchildren. A Visitation will take place on Saturday, July 5, 2008 from 11am until 1pm at Nanjemoy Baptist Church, Nanjemoy, MD. A Funeral Service will follow on Saturday, July 5, 2008 at 1pm at Nanjemoy Baptist Church. Interment to follow in the church cemetery. Pallbearers will be Chris Dobry, Bo Hancock, Alton Bowie, Francis Queen, Art Brown, Ronnie Miller, and Chris Windsor Honorary Pallbearers will be the United States Army Honor Guard.
