Lorraine Ann Adams of La Plata, Maryland died at her residence on Saturday, June 28, 2008. She was 71 years old.

Born on October 31, 1936 in Pomonkey, MD, she was the daughter of the late Mary E. Jenkins Bladen and the late Ernest L. Bladen. Mrs. Adams was a Food Service Manager for the Charles County Board of Education. She loved baseball and in her earlier years, camping, fishing and site-seeing. She was of the Roman Catholic faith and a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sister Effie I. Bladen and brother Joseph L. Bladen.

She is survived by her husband of 49 years, Robert A. Adams Sr.; her son Robert A. Adams Jr. and his wife Kitty LaHood Adams; her sisters Betty Peters and Patricia Martin; her brother Richard Bladen; her grandchildren Susie, Annie, Maggie and Sophie Adams; several nieces and nephews.

A gathering of family and friends will be held on Thursday, July 3, 2008 from 5PM to 8PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646. A private service and interment will be held at a later date.
