On June 15, 2008 Hodges B. Childs, 88, of Solomons, MD passed away in Asbury-Solomons Health Care Center.

Born Sept. 28, 1919 in Frederick, MD to the late Wm. Fenimore Childs, Jr. and Alice Carr Childs.

Hodges received a B.A. from Johns Hopkins Unv. and a J.D. from the Unv. Of MD. He was Corporate Council for Baltimore Gas and Electric, living in Severna Park for 30 years before retiring to the Solomons area seven years ago. He volunteered at the Chesapeake Biological lab in Solomons and a big supporter of the Calvert Marine Museum. His interest included Boating and the Chesapeake Bay. Hodges was a member of St. James Parish in Lothian, the U.S. Power Squadron and the Navy League.

He is survived by his beloved wife Blanche H. Childs and devoted father of David Hodges Childs of Riva, Md, and Stephen Boswell Childs of Potomac, MD. Grandfather of Douglas M. Childs, Heather Childs Mason and Melanie L. Childs, he is also survived by his brother William F. Childs, III of Towson, MD.

A Memorial service will be held on Friday June 20, 2008, 10 A.M. at St. James Parish in Lothian with the Rev. William Ticknor officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.

Memorial contributions may be made to the Chesapeake Bay Foundation.
