Kathleen Patricia Peppin passed away Friday, June 13, 2008 in LaPlata, MD at the age of 87. Kathleen was born on Valentines Day 1921 to Alice O'Grady-Collins and Thomas Collins, just outside of London, England.

Kathleen had three siblings who predeceased her, brothers Thomas and James and her younger sister Eileen.

When Kathleen finished her education, she was employed by the fashion house of Marcus of London. When the War broke out she joined the British Royal Air Force and served six years. She survived the bombing of London and was part of the RAF occupation forces in Germany. It was there that she met Charles Peppin (USAF Medical Service Corps) and eventually came to America in 1954 to become his wife and his "Irish Rose". He was smitten from moment one and that intoxicated state continued for more than 52 years until his death in 2006.

Kathleen is survived by her daughter Alicia Mrozowski and two grandchildren Craig and Lauren Cook.

A funeral mass will be offered for the repose of her soul at the Old Post Chapel at Arlington National Cemetery at 8:45 AM on Monday, August 18, 2008 followed by her interment beside her beloved. A traditional Irish Wake will be held at Kismet Farm the weekend proceeding to give her a proper Irish send off. As the tile that always hung in my family home reads.

Come in the evening, come in the morning, Come when you are looked for or come without warning, "Cead mile failte" (a hundred thousand Gallic welcomes) you'll find here before you, And the oftener you come, the more we'll adore you.

Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
