John Robert Garber, 49, of Lusby, formerly of North Huntingdon, Pa., died June 8, 2008, at his residence.

He was born Dec. 6, 1958, in Pittsburgh, Pa., to Robert Edward and Christine Marie Garber of Lusby.

He graduated from Norwin High School in North Huntingdon, Pa., in 1976 and went on to attend Edinboro University in Edinboro, Pa., and graduated in 1982. He was best known as co-host of ''The Breakfast Flakes," a top-rated radio morning show on I-95 Radio in Savannah, Ga. He, along with Maryanne Edinger, were on-the-air there from 1987 through 1997. He moved to Calvert County in 2003. His favorite hobby was fishing.

He is survived by his parents; son, Matthew I. Garber of Raleigh, N.C.; and a brother, M. Andy Garber, and sister-in-law Lynn, of Wheeling, W.Va.

Family received friends June 10 in the Rausch Funeral Home in Lusby, where a funeral service was held. The Rev. David Keyser officiated the services.

Interment was private.
