James Franklin ( Frankie ) Harris, Sr., 70, of Mesa, Arizona formerly of Callaway, Maryland died on June 3, 2008 at Calvert Memorial Hospital, Prince Frederick, Maryland.

Born April 15, 1938 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late Joseph G. and Eloise Gatton Harris.

After graduating from Margaret Brent High School in Helen, Maryland, he began his business career in St. Mary's County. He founded Harris Jewelers in Leonardtown in 1965 which later became G & H Jewelers. He also owned and co-owned various other business in the county.

He was predeceased by his first wife Elizabeth Lucille ( Betty Lou ) Harris in January 1993 and a son Gregory Russell ( Greg ) Harris in November 2002 a sister Louise Harris and a brother Sam Harris.

Mr. Harris is survived by his wife Diana May Nutter Harris of Mesa, AZ; a daughter Crystal Dawn Moeller her husband Lawrence of Leonardtown, MD; son James Franklin ( Frank ) Harris, Jr. his wife Joan of Saint Leonard, MD; step-daughter Debbie Fort of Mesa, AZ and her husband Paul; sister Rose Marie Tena her husband Tom of Hollywood, MD. Also survived by nine grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Relatives and friends are invited to Frankie's Life Celebration in the Brinsfield Funeral Home, 22955 Hollywood Road, Leonardtown, MD on Friday, June 6th from 5 to 8 p.m. with a funeral service at 7:00 p.m.

Graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, June 7, 2008 in the Charles Memorial Gardens, Leonardtown, MD.
