William Thomas "Sonny-Sonnyboy" Brown, 79, of Ridge, MD formerly of West East, DC died May 25, 2008 in Washington Hospital Center. Born May 6, 1929 in Leonardtown, MD he was the son of the late James Wesley and Bessie Larbertta Thomas Brown.

He is survived by his children: Sharon L. and Joseph T. Brooks both of Lexington Park, MD; siblings: Louise Harrison and William J. Brown both of West East, DC; grandchildren: Brenna, Leon and Daren Brooks, Kevin Walton, Travis Walton, Johnathan Brooks, Joshuaw Brooks, John Dickens, Jr. and James Blackiston, III, Jason and Willis Brooks and great grandchildren: Keyonta, Kalaya and Demetreous Bonds, J'niya and J'khiya Brooks, Kyrian, Darenisha and Man-Man Brooks and Damaria and Evonta Walton.

He was also preceded in death by his daughter Bernice Y. Walton and siblings Constante V. Thomas, Charles Z. Brown, William F. Brown, George L. Brown, James S. Brown and Earl Brown.

Sonny Boy as he was commonly known received his early education from the public school in Bel Alton High School, Bel Alton, MD Class of 1947. He later met and courted Mary F. Brooks. He was then employed by Prince George's County Highway control for over 30 years. During that time he enjoyed spending time with his family and playing his guitar. In the most recent years he enjoyed walking with his friends in the park and spending endless amounts of time with his grandchildren which were the joys of his life in which he leaves to cherish his memory.

The family will receive friends on Monday, June 2, 2008 from 11:00 AM – 12:00 PM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, where a funeral service will be held at 12:00 PM with Pastor Briscoe officiating. Interment will follow in Charles Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be James Blackiston, Tercell Blackiston, Wendell Blackiston, Larrelle Carey, Kashif Dyson and Marquis Barnes. Honorary Pallbearers will be Larry Chase, Daryl Miles and Brandy Bowman.
