Thomas Vernon Sunderland of Charlotte Hall, MD, formerly of Annapolis, MD died of natural causes on May 22, 2008. He was 89 years old.

Mr. Sunderland served in the United States military during World War II. Later he reentered the service and served in Germany until 1952 where he met and married Elvira Loyal Sunderland his beloved wife. He also enjoyed dining out and he liked to jog, especially on the Naval Academy grounds where he worked until his retirement.

Survived by his wife, Elvira Sunderland.

A viewing will be held on June 2, 2008 at 11AM at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Rd., Charlotte Hall, MD followed by a religious ceremony at Noon. Interment will follow at 1PM Maryland Veterans Cemetery, Cheltenham, MD.
