Mr. Willett was a lifelong resident of Charles County. He was a computer analyst for the United States government. He was one of the founders of Southern Maryland Youth Organization (SMYO), and very active with his church. He enjoyed golfing and computers.

He was the son of James Harrison Lee Willett and Nellie Loretta Coombs.
