James Roscoe Curtis, 83, of Chaptico, MD died May 7, 2008 in the Charlotte Hall Veterans Home, Charlotte Hall, MD.

Born April 20, 1925, he was the son of the late Joseph Norman Curtis and Emma Nelson Curtis.

James is survived by his wife, Mary Odessa Bush Curtis of Chaptico, MD, children; Mary T. Canada of Oxon Hill, MD, Sherry R. Miles (Mark) of Lexington Park, MD, James R. Talbert of Washington, DC, James R. Curtis, Jr. of Washington, DC, Francis X. Curtis (Victoria) of Clements, MD, and Joseph W. Curtis (Pamela) of Chaptico, MD. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Madeline Young and brother, Joseph Carroll Curtis.

Family will receive friends for James's Life Celebration on Wednesday, May 14, 2008 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. in the Brinsfield Life Celebration Chapel, Leonardtown, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. in Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Bushwood, MD. Reverend Francis Early will be the celebrant. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
