Mary Marie Smothers, affectionately known as "TOP" entered into eternal peace on Friday, April 18, 2008, at Washington Hospital Center in Washington, D.C. surrounded by her children and grandchildren.

Mary was born on September 18, 1939 in Mount Victoria, Maryland. She was educated in the Charles County Public School System. Mary was employed at the Charles County Nursing Home in La Plata, Maryland as a Senior Nursing Aide. She enjoyed those summer evenings on the lawn eating crabs with her family and friends.

Mary is survived by her children: Shirley, Joseph, Debra(Shelton), Pernell, Alphonso, Deon(Paula) and Alnita; twenty-seven grandchildren, nine great-grandchildren; two aunts: Elizabeth Clark and Blanch Hill and a host of relatives and friends.

Funeral Services will be held Saturday, April 26, 2008 at Shiloh Community United Methodist Church, 12610 Shiloh Church Road, Newburg, MD. Viewing, 10:00a.m. followed by the Funeral Service at 11:00a.m.
