Ernest "Ernie" Lee Friess of Coltons Point, MD went home to our Lord and Savior, September 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Hospital, he was surrounded by his wife Aggie, Brother Joey, Aunt Mary Lou and cousins Connie and Pat Faunce. Ernie was born July 8, 1965 to Joe Boy and Cordia Friess.

Ernie married Agnes Marie Faunce November 3, 1990 celebrating almost 25 years of marriage. Ernie and Aggie went on their first date May 11, 1985 in a Ford Pinto and had been together 30 years.

Ernie retired from the State Highway Administration December 2009. Some of his favorite times were doing traffic light survey at night with friends and co-workers, Brenda Wathen and Mike Machesney. Ernie loved to play 50/50 raffle with his friend and co-worker Lewis Quade. Partners in crime, driving and Little Debbie cakes.

Ernie was a gentle and loving husband and Dad to his beloved daughter Maria Faith. The day Maria was born was the best day of his life, another favorite day was when his father-in-law Eddie Faunce finished building Ernie his own boat. Many evenings were spent with Ernie driving that boat around the Island fishing, looking out for Rick Carroll, no less.

Ernie is survived by his beloved wife Agnes M. Faunce Friess, daughter Maria Faith Friess. Parents Joe Boy and Cordia Friess, Sister Betty Johnson and brothers, Joey and David Friess. Ernie is preceded in death by his mother and father-in-law Mary and Eddie Faunce. Mary and Eddie loved Ernie more like a son than a son-in-law, also preceded in death by sister-in-law Mary Ann Faunce and by pets lost in the fire, Cleo, Johnston, Pudding and Mya.

Ernie spent the last ten months of his life surrounded by Aggies family, all the Faunces loved Ernie and would come daily to check on him. He was able to go home to Coltons Point three weeks before he passed. He was happy to sleep in his own bed after the house was rebuilt from the house fire.
