Hazel Marie Winkler, 98, of Pomfret, Maryland, died on Friday, September 18, 2015 at her home. She was a homemaker and a long-time resident of Charles County. Hazel was born January 21, 1917 to Lucy Lee and Robert Xavier Sanders.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband James Leo Winkler; her son Bernard Lee Winkler; granddaughters Kimberly Sue Winkler and Stacy Lynn Winkler. She is survived by her children Charlotte Spivey, Raymond Winkler, Hugh Winkler and Vivian Simms; 12 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and six great great-grandchildren.

A visitation will be held on Tuesday, September 22, 2015 from 10AM until time of Mass to begin at 11AM at St. Joseph Catholic Church, 4590 St. Joseph Way, Pomfret, MD 20675.
