Odell Wade, 81, of Dunkirk, MD died on Monday, April 14, 2008 at Anne Arundel Medical Center in Annapolis, MD of natural causes.

Odell was born on June 21, 1926 in Washington, DC to Thomas and Martha Frances Martin Blount. She was raised in Washington, DC and attended public schools. Odell married Robert L. "Bob" Wade on January 17, 1948 and they made their home in Washington, DC; Suitland and Waldorf, MD. After Bob's death in 1986, Odell moved to Calvert County and made her home in Dunkirk for the past 15 years.

She was primarily a homemaker, but she worked as a model and sales associate for a dress shop in LaPlata for several years.

A religious person, Odell was an active and dedicated member of Fellowship Baptist Church since October 1969. She served as a treasurer and prayer warrior for many years and enjoyed Bible study.

Odell volunteered with the Calvert Memorial Hospital Diabetes program in the office and with making phone calls for the program.

In her free time, Odell made porcelain dolls, studied the Bible and loved to spend time with her children and grandchildren.

Odell is preceded in death by her parents, her husband and her sisters Nellie Caputo and Orchid Donaldson and a grandson Brandon Messmore.

She is survived by her children Robert Keith Wade and his wife Margaret of Upper Marlboro; William Gary Wade, Sr. and his wife Dorothy of Dunkirk; Karen Ann Messmore and her husband Michael of Dunkirk; James Dennis Wade and his wife Dawn of Quincy, FL; Robin Lynne Patterson and her husband Demetrious of Dunkirk; her grandchildren William G. Wade, Jr., Robert J. Wade, Shannon Ashby, Blake Messmore, Dean Patterson, and Justin Wade; her brothers Thomas Blount of Mitchellville and Carl Daniels of Stuarts Draft, VA; and numerous nieces and nephews.
