Eleanor "Ellie" Kephart Benson, 85, of Waldorf, MD passed away on August 16, 2015 at the Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD. Ellie was born on January 29, 1930 in Montgomery County, MD to the late Vernon R. Kephart and the late Mabel E. Kephart. Ellie is also predeceased by her daughter, Theresa Nunnenkamp; brother, John "Jack" Kephart; and sister, Judith Benson.

Ellie is survived by her sons, Vernon Benson (Bernadette) and Randy Benson (Ruth Ann); brothers, Vernon "Reggie" Kephart and George Kephart; six grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren.

Ellie moved to Charles County in 1962 and was homemaker. She was later employed as the Clerk Treasurer with the Town of La Plata and the Town of Indian Head.

Visitation will be held on Sunday, August 23, 2015 from 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD. A Funeral Service will be held on Monday, August 24, 2015 from 10:00 to 11:00 AM at New Life Church, 9690 Shepherds Creek Pl., La Plata, MD. Interment to follow in the church cemetery.
