Raymond John Murphy, age 69 of White Plains, MD died August 3, 2015 at the Genesis La Plata Center.

Raymond was an auto salesman for 50 plus years with Dave Pyles, Wilson Powell, Pohanka, Lowes Chevrolet, and Sheehy dealerships. He liked being on the water, dancing, and music. He enjoyed his vacations and spending time with his family. He was a member of the Silver Hill Fire Department and the Southwest Alumni Association.

He is the son of the late Ambrose Gregory Murphy, Jr. and the late Katherine Lorraine Twiford Murphy. He is survived by his fiancé, Trudie Cora; his sons, Ray Murphy, II, Dean Murphy, and Greg Murphy and his wife Angie; his daughter, Tiffany Cox and her husband Frankie; his brother, Ambrose Murphy and his wife Barbara. He is also survived by eight grandchildren and one great-grandchild.

Friends will be received on Friday, August 7, 2015 from 5-8PM with Wake Service at 7PM at Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Bryantown, MD. Arrangements provided by Raymond Funeral Service.
