Alton "Bing" Monroe Quade, Jr., 86, of Mechanicsville, MD passed away on Wednesday, August 5, 2015 at his home surrounded by his family. Born in Bushwood, MD on January 27, 1929 he was the son of the late Alton M. Quade, Sr. and Lucy (Russell) Quade. He was additionally predeceased in life by his wife of 64 years, Bertha Cecelia (Hammett) Quade; as well as his brothers, Harry, Joseph, William and Elliott; and his sisters, Katherine Hall Graves and Mary Levia Pilkerton.

A Charles County farmer all of his life, Bing also drove a school bus in Charles County for Calvin Compton Bus Service. Bing enjoyed the company of his family and playing his guitar. In his younger years, Bing played guitar in various bands made up of family members and friends at social gatherings and local taverns in St. Mary's County. His love of music was passed on to his four sons.

Bing is survived by his sons, David (Kathleen), Larry (Dee), Gene (Margaret) and Pat (Wendy). Additionally survived by his brothers, James Bernard and John Francis; and his sister, Alice Dorn (Robert). Bing was blessed with 10 grandchildren, Barry Wendy Contic (Brian), Ashley Della (Andy), Shannon, Madeline, Tyler, Tristan, Catherine, Agnes and Augustine; and three great-grandchildren, Kameron and Aubree Della and Shelby Contic.

Family and friends will be received on Thursday, August 13, 2015 from 2:00 to 4:00 PM and 6:00 to 8:00 PM at Arehart-Echols Funeral Home, 211 St. Mary's Ave., La Plata, MD. A Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Friday, August 14, 2015 at 11:00 AM at St. Ignatius Chapel Point, 8855 Chapel Point Rd., Port Tobacco, MD. Pallbearers will be his nephews, Sam Quade, Harold Quade; Honorary Pall Bearer, Mike Quade. Interment to follow immediately after mass in the church cemetery.
