Larry Thomas Scruggs, 70, of Prince Frederick, MD passed away on April 9, 2008 at his home. Larry was born October 18, 1937 in Caldwell, WVA to the late George Oscar and Anna Loudermilk Scruggs.

Beloved husband of Thelma L. Scruggs, devoted father of Edith Willard of St. Augustine, Fla., Delores Kellum of Comer, Ga., Mary Hall of Mobile Ala., Juanita Scruggs of Okeechobee Fla., Barbara Kline of Okeechobee Fla. And Leomer Jackson of Comer Ga. Larry was the grandfather of 22, three of whom he raised as his own children, Clarence Nice of Prince Frederick, MD., Larry Nice of Lusby, MD., and Vicky Hinebaugh of Oakland, MD.

He is also survived by 26 great grandchildren, 4 sisters, Oleta , Ann Bryant, Erma Bryant, and Caroline Trail, and 3 brothers, Garry, Grady, and Samuel Scruggs.

He served in the Army for seven years, and worked for Calvert County for 24 years as groundskeeper at Hallowing Point Park. He loved "yard work", mowing the grass was one of his passions, not letting anyone else do it because only he could do it right. He also loved to plant flowers in his yard and down the Chesapeake Ranch Estate by the front gate. He was a very loving and devoted Husband, father, grandfather, brother and would do anything for his family.

The family received friends at the Rausch Funeral Home, 4405 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD on Sunday April 13, 2008 from 2-5 PM. Funeral Services were held on Monday April 14, 2008, 10 AM at Full Gospel Assembly of God Church, Prince Frederick, MD with the Rev. Todd Marple and Rev. William Davis officiating. Interment followed in Southern Memorial Gardens.
