Frances "Carolyn" Bowie, 91, of La Plata, MD passed away on June 15, 2015 at the Hospice House in Waldorf, MD. Carolyn was born on April 3, 1924 in Doncaster, MD to the late Bryan Hammark and the late Lucy Collins Hammark. She is also predeceased by her loving husband, the late Norris T. Bowie, who passed away in 1986.

Carolyn is survived by her son, Lynn Bowie (Jackie); grandchildren, Tommy (Lee Anne) and Pamela (Chris); and four great-grandchildren, Matthew, Grace, Garrett and Caleb.

Carolyn was a homemaker and loved being with her family. She was a member of The Chicamuxen United Methodist Church. In her spare time, Carolyn enjoyed crossword puzzles, reading and American Bandstand.

The family will receive friends on Friday, June 19, 2015 from 9:00 to 11:00 AM at the Chicamuxen United Methodist Church, 6255 Chicamuxen Rd., Chicamuxen, MD 20640. A Funeral Mass will start at 11:00 AM; Interment immediately following. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting that memorial donations be made in Carolyn's name to the Chicamuxen United Methodist Church Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 2338, La Plata, MD 20646.
