Alice Elizabeth Thrasher, 86, died Sunday morning April 6th at 6:43am at her home in St. Leonard, Maryland. Born Friday March 31, 1922 at Brooms Island, MD to Thomas and Annie Parks, she was the oldest child of five.
Alice is survived by her husband Vincent, married for 63 years, four sons, Orval Lee and his wife Sandra, Larry Dean and his wife Kaye, Terry Louis and his wife Sarah and Lloyd Wm. and his wife Catherine seven grand children; Brian, Todd, Colin, Harrison, Quillan, Corbin and Michelle Thrasher and two great grand children; Taylor and Conner Thrasher. She is also survived by two sisters; Anne Marie Elliott, Edith Loraine Bowen and two brothers; Thomas Carroll Parks and Daniel Warren parks. During Alice's early years, she supported the war effort during World War II working as a drill press operator. Later working as a glove maker and sales clerk for College Park Radio and Goldstein's Department Store in Prince Frederick before starting her family. Alice's greatest career and life long desire for over three decades was that of a loving wife and mother. She loved flower gardening and always looked forward to spring and the many flower gardens in her yard. Services were held Friday, April 11, 2008, 10:00am at the Wesleyan Church, Brooms Island, Maryland. Entombment will be at Southern Memorial Garden in Dunkirk, MD. Pallbearers were Orval, Terry, Larry, Lloyd, Brian and Todd Thrasher. Arrangement by Rausch Funeral Home, Port Republic, MD. |
