Mary Carol "Mom Riggs" O'Donnell of Waldorf, Maryland, died on Monday, May 18, 2015 at her home. She was 69 years old. Born on April 1, 1946 in Washington, DC, she was the daughter of the late Mary "Babe" Sullivan Wheeler and the late Louis Cooke.

Mrs. O'Donnell was a job coach for Melwood. She enjoyed playing Bingo, gambling, cooking and being with her family.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. O'Donnell was preceded in death by her husband, James Alton O'Donnell; her sons Theodore James Riggs and John Preston Riggs; her sisters Margie and Joanne; her brothers Billy Cooke and Louis Cooke.

She is survived by her daughter Debra A. Hammonds; sons Robert Riggs and his wife Marian, Gene Jordan; sister Eileen Fisher; daughter-in-law Connie Riggs; grandchildren Jacqui, Theodore Jr., Mattie, Jennifer, Robbie, Crystal, Dylan and Lisa; five great grandchildren.

Visitation on Wednesday, May 27, 2015 from 11AM until time of service at 2PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue La Plata, MD 20646. A private interment will take place at a later date at Cedar Hill Cemetery in Suitland, MD. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Accokeek Volunteer Fire Department P.O.
