John Edward Hancock, Jr., 51, of Hughesville, MD passed away on April 21, 2015 in Crouse, NC. He was born on October 26, 1963 in La Plata, MD to the late John Edward Hancock, Sr. and the late Margaret Ann (Mister) Hancock.

John enjoyed hunting and fishing. He was a heavy equipment operator with Jimmy Richards and Reliable Construction for ten years.

John is survived by his children, Patricia McMicheal (Jeffrey), Crystal Hancock and Charles Hancock; siblings, Mike Hancock, Tina Lawrence (Ray) and Truman Hancock (Ann); seven grandchildren, Sean Hancock, Hailey McMicheal, Austin McMicheal, Brandi Lokey, Brice Lokey, Brandon Lokey and Bailey Hancock; and many other relatives and friends.

Family and friends will be received for John's Life Celebration on Monday, April 27, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., with prayers beginning at 7:00 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held on Tuesday, April 28, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at Old Fields Episcopal Church, 15837 Prince Frederick Road, Hughesville, MD 20637. Interment will follow at Old Fields Church Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be: Ray Lawrence, Ray Copsey, Jimmy Bowie, Timmy Howard and Joe Mister. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Jeffrey McMicheal and Janice Jones. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield Funeral Home.
