Thomas Leroy Briscoe Sr., 81, of Waldorf, MD peacefully made the transition from this life on Wednesday, April 8, 2015 at his residence. Born November 15, 1933 in Indian Head, MD he was one of nine children of the late Austin and Lucy (Smith) Briscoe. He was known as 'Buck' to all his family and many friends.

After graduating high school, Thomas started his military service in U.S. Air Force and later switched over to the U.S. Army. He proudly served his country for 21 years which included seeing combat in Vietnam. He retired in July 1972. Thomas would go on to work for the U.S. Postal Service as a Postal Police Officer at the Bulk Mail Center in Washington, DC & Largo, MD until his retirement. He was a long time member of the Fraternal Order of Police DC Lodge #1.

Thomas was preceded in death by his three brothers Alton, Charles, and Louis Briscoe, and his sister Sr. Jacinta Briscoe. Leaving to cherish his memory is his two daughters Sheila Haymon and her husband Victor Sr. of Farmville, VA, Kasandra Briscoe of Clinton, MD, his son Thomas L. Briscoe, Jr. and his wife Janet of Stephens City, VA, former wife of thirty two years Bernice Briscoe of Clinton, MD, two sisters Mary Jackson and her husband William of LaPlata, MD, Theresa Clagett and her husband Charles of Hughesville, MD, two brothers Richard Briscoe of Hughesville, MD, James Briscoe and his wife Mary of Hughesville, MD. Thomas was blessed with eight grandchildren Jennie Fowlkes and her husband Antron, Matthew Haymon all of Farmville, VA, Nicole Haymon of Richmond, VA, Victor Haymon II of Nashville, TN, PFC Brittany Haymon of Ft. Bliss, TX, Joseph Rouse, Eden Rouse both of Clinton, MD, Elizabeth Briscoe of Stephens City,VA, two great grandchildren Jalen and Jordan Fowlkes both of Farmville, VA, and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of other relatives and friends.
