Artie "Art" W. Gray, Sr., 71, of Huntingtown, MD passed away on March 16, 2015 at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, MD. He was born on June 14, 1943 in Riverdale, MD to the late Artie Harvey Gray and the late Lorraine Louise (Behling) Gray. In addition to his parents, Art was predeceased by his sister, Deborah Gray.

Art worked as an engineer at the Smithsonian Institution. Due to his illness, Art retired in 2003. He enjoyed Christmas time, old cars, fishing, and traveling, especially his annual trip to Daytona Beach, Florida. He was a diehard Redskins fan. But most of all, he loved his family.

Art is survived by his wife, Patricia M. (Grim) Gray; children, Lori Pavkov (Dale), John Reed (Lisa) and Jerri Reed (Jason); sister, Darlene Shipley; sisters-in-law, Deborah Grim and Vickie Reed and brothers-in-law, Edward Grim, Robert Grim, Howard (Bruce) Grim and Thomas Grim; grandchildren, Savanna, Jacob, Sydney, Alisha, Courtney, Wesley, Jason, Aiden, Brianna, Kayla and Jessica; and nieces and nephews, Kay Walko, Karen Burnett, Woody Walko, Robert Grim, Kevin Grim, Michael Grim, Jennifer Baker, Max Grim, Chaz Shipley, Spencer Baione and Brian Baione.

Family and friends will be received for Art's Life Celebration on Friday, March 20, 2015 from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be held on Saturday, March 21, 2015 at 11:00 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Chesapeake Highland Memorial Gardens, 3270 Broomes Island Road, Port Republic, MD 20676.
