Charles E. Wood, Sr., of North Beach, MD passed away on Thursday, March 12th in Calvert County, MD. He was a Charter Member of the Local Firefighters Union 1619. He was the first paid fireman in Prince George's County and stationed at Beltsville. He retired April 1, 1981.

Beloved husband of the late Barbara Rose Wood; loving father of Dennis K. Wood, Sr., William M. Wood and the late Charles "Eddie" Wood, Jr.; grandfather of Tamara Page Reese and Dennis "Keith" (Lindsayanna) Wood, Jr; great grandfather of Eric, Spencer, Zachary, Dylan and Gavin; brother of Doris Humphrey and Mary Saunders.

Visitation: Tuesday, March 17 from 3:00-5:00 p.m. and 7:00-9:00 p.m., with Fireman's Service at 8:00 p.m.
Service: Wednesday, March 18 at 10:00 a.m. at Borgwardt Funeral Home. Interment in George Washington Cemetery.
