Thelma B. Montgomery Taylor, 82, went to eternal rest February 13, 2015 with family by her side. Born September 18, 1932 in Bryantown, Maryland to the late Steven L. Montgomery and the late Adele Burch Montgomery.

Thelma was a life long resident of St. Mary's county and graduated Margaret Brent high school. She went on to work for C&P phone company and from there retired from Verizon in 1989. Thelma enjoyed reading books, watching classic television shows and movies, but mostly talking with family and friends.

On January 4, 1949 Thelma married the late Alvin Earl Taylor at St. Joseph church in Morganza, together they raised six children; Richly "Bunky" (Genny) Pamela Mathis, Bonnie Taylor, Judy Taylor, Kevin Taylor and Chrissy Taylor. She was blessed with six grandchildren; Donald Mathis, Daniel Mathis, Jennifer Adams (Chuck), Brian Tayor (Tonya), Taylor Young, Fallon Taylor and seven great grandchildren.

In later years she married the late Alton "Dick" Watkins. Thelma is survived by her siblings; Virginia Gatton, Ann Shotwell and John Montgomery (Barbara). She was preceded in death by two children Judy and Kevin; siblings Louis Mattingly (Alberta) Ellen Mattingly (Francis), Lucille Mattingly (John) Ruth Norris (Leonard). A memorial Mass will be held in Thelma's honor at St. Francis Xavier church in Compton on February 28, 2015 at 11am with reception to follow in the Parish Hall.
