Gordon Blackistone Hughes, M.D., 66, of Leonardtown, MD formerly from Cleveland, OH, passed away on February 15, 2015. Born on June 24, 1949 in Pittsburg, PA he was the son of the late Jane Blackistone Hughes and Gen. Joseph D. Hughes.

Gordon is survived by his wife Myra Madden Hughes whom he married on May 3, 1980 in Nashville, TN. Gordon is survived by his son Gordon Blackistone Hughes Jr., of Richmond, VA, brothers; Gerard Blackistone Hughes of Washington, DC, and Thomas Mifflin Hughes of Denver, CO.

He graduated from Mercerburg Academy in 1968, and graduated from Dartmouth/ Case Western University in 1989 with a Medical Doctor Degree. Gordon worked for the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio where he was head of neurology and he also worked for the National Institute of Health in Washington, DC for 30 years.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, February 21, 2015 from 10:00 AM – 11:00 Am in All Saints Episcopal Church, Avenue, MD. A Funeral Service will follow at 11:00 AM with Rev. Harry Harper officiating. Interment will be held at a later date. Pallbearers; Woody Labet, Jeff Fellows, Gerard Hughes, Mick Blackistone, Dick Blackistone, and Bruce Blackistone.
