Richard Joseph "Dick" Moure' of Prince Frederick, MD died on January 30, 2015 at the Solomons Nursing Center in Solomons, MD. He was 95 years old. Born on March 21, 1919 in Berlin Township, Michigan he was the son of the late Ramiro Moure' and the late Angela DeSoto Moure' who immigrated from Spain and Cuba in the early 1900's. In addition to his parents and siblings, Dick is preceded in death by his wife of nearly 71 years, the late Nicolina Antoinette "Nikki" Leone Moure'.

Dick was the last surviving son of the 18 children (13 surviving to maturity) born to Ramiro and Angela. He was enlisted in the Army Air Corps in October of 1941 and worked his way up from aircraft maintenance to Squadron Aircraft Inspector to Chief Base Maintenance Inspector as Master Sergeant at Lake Charles Air Force Base, LA. He was Honorably Discharged in November 1945.

He married Nicolina A. Leone on September 5, 1943 in the Bronx, New York. After he was discharged from the military, he moved his young family from New York to Maryland and remained a resident for the rest of his years.

Over many years, Dick gained experience in many different jobs as his father moved their large family and family businesses around the country. He was a skilled carpenter and cabinet-maker, but made his living at Firearms International, originally located in the Oxon Hill/Accokeek, MD area. He worked in many capacities, there, as gun smith, shop foreman, sales representative and company agent to area legal committees.

Dick was always active in civic and church groups. He was the first Chairman of the Potomac Heights Civic Association in the early 1950's. He was active in the Accokeek-Bryans Road Lions Club and held many offices in that association. He joined as a charter member of the John F. Kennedy Council of the Knights of Columbus and remained an active member as long as his health allowed. He was very active in his church, St. Mary Star of the Sea, Indian Head, MD and its church council. He served as lector and Eucharistic Minister for many years at St. Mary's. Dick and his wife, Nikki, joined the Spanish Club sponsored by the Charles County Community College and made many friends, there. They both were active Mall Walkers and enjoyed the activities and comradely of the associations and clubs to which they belonged.

In his last years spent at Solomons Nursing Center, he endeared himself to many of the nurses and staff with his charm and good humor and will be dearly be missed by his family and friends.

Mr. Moure' is survived by his children, Carol A. Eck, wife of the late John (Jack) Eck, Richard J. Moure' Jr. and his wife Janet, Marcia E. Kubick and her husband Michael, and Teresa (Terri) Oestringer and her husband Pete; his sister Aida Moure' Garner, his grandchildren, Stephanie Eck Brooks and her husband Kurt, Christine Eck Carlson and her husband Jeff, John Eck and his wife Bonnie, and Andrew J. Vance and his fiancé Elaina Wells; and three great-grandchildren, Nicole Brooks, Scott Brooks, and Natalie Eck; and many nieces and nephews.

Visitation on Sunday, February 8, 2015 from 6:00PM to 8:00PM with Prayers at 7PM at the Raymond Funeral Service, P.A. 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Mass of Christian Burial will be offered on Monday, February 9, 2015 at 11AM at the St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pomfret, MD. Interment to follow in the church cemetery, were Dick will spend eternal rest next to the love of his life, Nikki.
