Wood, Doretha (Age 60) of La Plata, MD.

Doretha Wood was born April 13, 1954 to the late Henrietta Pinckney and Jesse Strobhart. On Tuesday, January 13, 2015, surrounded by her devoted husband, Barry and loving family at home and later at University of Maryland Charles Regional Medical Center, she transitioned into eternal life.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by two sons, Brandon and Brent; seven sisters, four brothers-in-law, two sisters-in-law, father-in-law and mother-in-law, Gerall and Carmen Wood, uncles, aunts and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends. Doretha was preceded in death by mother-in-law, Gladys Wilkins.

The viewing will be held 4p.m. to 7p.m., Monday, January 19, 2015 in the Chapel of Thornton Funeral Home, P.A., 3439 Livingston Road, Indian Head, MD 20640 and from 10a.m. until time of service, 11a.m., Tuesday, January 20, 2015 at New Life Church Chapel, 9690 Shepherds Creek Place, La Plata, MD 20646.
