Ann Frances Lee, of Callaway, MD passed away on December 11, 2014 at her residence, surrounded by her loving family. Born November 5, 1937, in Pennsylvania, she was the daughter of the late Walter James and Helen Watt McConnell.
After graduation from Cambria Heights High School, Ann accepted a position with the U.S. Navy Department, before retiring to raise her children. On April 7, 1956, she married her beloved husband, William Jackson Lee. Together they celebrated 42 wonderful years of marriage before his passing in November 1998. Ann was very talented, learning to embroider at the early age of seven. She taught herself how to crochet and later learned to quilt, making many beautiful pieces. Exercising on a regular basis for the past 30 years, Ann enjoyed jazzercise at the Garvey Center and Loffler Center. She also enjoyed canning, baking, going to flea markets and taking daytrips. Her flea market finds led to an expansive collection of Depression glass and juice reamers. She enjoyed traveling to Connecticut, Pennsylvania and Florida. Above all, she was a loving and devoted wife and mother, and family was her top priority. She was an active member and volunteer at St. George's Catholic Church, the Patuxent River Quilters Guild, and worked on Project Lioness making baby quilts for the hospital. Ann is survived by her children, Richard Lee (Della) of Intercession City, FL, Steven Lee of Catonsville, MD and Wayne Lee of Front Royal, VA; her grandchildren, Maria Lee of Elkridge, MD, Zachary Lee of Catonsville, MD, Shelby Lee of Vienna, VA, and Kelsey Lee of Vienna, VA; and her siblings, John McConnell of Loretto, PA, Rita Lacey, Patricia Yencho, and Carl McConnell all of Patton, PA.
