George Bernard Caywood, Sr., 74, of Charlotte Hall, MD, passed away on November 24, 2014 at MedStar Georgetown University Hospital in Washington, DC. He was born on April 7, 1940 in Mechanicsville, MD to the late Thomas Theodore Caywood and the late Louise Farrell Caywood.
George grew up in St. Mary's County and attended St. Joseph's Catholic School and Margaret Brent High School in Morganza, MD. When he was younger he was a member of the Mechanicsville volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. He was a hard worker and enjoyed his 30 years of service with Frito Lay as a route salesman. He enjoyed taking care of his yard, watching Nascar and the Redskins. He also enjoyed setting and watching Martin birds for hours, but his most enjoyable times were spending time with his children, grandchildren, great- grandchildren and his white cat "Pretti" who he adored. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his brother, Francis Caywood. George is survived by his loving wife, Sandra A. Caywood, son, George "Bernie" Caywood, Jr. (Donna), daughter, Kim Caywood Collins (Louis), brother, Charles Caywood (Brenda), sister, Shirley Shay, grandchildren, Amy, Ryan, Brandon and Joey "Joe Buck", great-grandchildren, Caydence, Makenzie and Michael. Family will receive friends for George's Life Celebration Viewing on Friday, November 28, 2014 from 2-4 pm and 6 to 8 pm at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A., 30195 Three Notch Road, Charlotte Hall, MD 20622. A Funeral Service will be on Saturday, November 29, 2014 at 11:00 am at Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home, P.A. with Father Michael Tietjen officiating. Pallbearers will be: Sean Caywood, Tommy Caywood, Ryan Caywood, Brandon Caywood, Joey Collins and Bobby Shay. Honorary Pallbearers will be: Louis Collins and Sean O'Grady. Memorial Contributions may be made to Mechanicsville Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Arrangements provided by Brinsfield-Echols Funeral Home. |
