Daniel James Oliver, 59, of La Plata, MD died Monday, November 10, 2014 at his home. He was born November 5, 1955 in New Brunswick, NJ to the late Charles Oliver and Ellen Evelyn Killen Schneider.

Daniel worked as an audio visual manager for the Federal Communications Commission. He was a Veteran of the United States Army.

He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and father in-law. He enjoyed hosting and attending a good family get-together or cookout. He was very loyal to his friends, would help anyone in need or down on their luck. He was a kind and caring person who loved animals and nature. He enjoyed visits with his grandchildren where they were often found playing on the floor with truck, cars and Lincoln Logs. He liked boating and fishing. He was a craftsman who enjoyed wood working, photography, making memories and telling a good story.

He is survived by his loving wife and best friend of 35 years Joan M. Oliver; two daughters Dannielle Dautenhahn and her husband Jeremy and Nicole Whittenton and her husband Chris; four grandchildren Brady Dautenhahn, Caden Whittenton, Paige Dautenhahn and Reese Whittenton.
