Edward George Winnicki, 89, of Leonardtown, MD and formerly of Watertown, MA died March 11, 2008 at St. Mary's Hospital. Born January 16, 1919 in Detroit, MI he was the son of the late Juzef and Lucyja Jarkoska Winnicki.

He was the loving husband of Carmena Winnicki who preceded him death on January 11, 2000. He is survived by his daughter Luci Koranek and her husband Rick of Chaptico, MD as well as five grandchildren, two great-grandchildren and his sister Helen Chwastek of Kalkaska, MI. He was preceded in death by his siblings; Joe, Walter, Stanley Winnicki, Steven Winnicki and Zigmund Gutowski.

Mr. Winnicki served in the United States Navy for four years during WWII. He moved to St. Mary's County in 1997 from Watertown, MA where he was employed as a caretaker for the Archdiocese of Boston. He loved baseball and working in the yard.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, March 15, 2008 from 10:30-11:30 AM in the Mattingley-Gardiner Funeral Home Chapel, Leonardtown, MD where a funeral service will follow at 11:30 AM with Fr. Timothy Baer officiating. Interment will be private. Contributions may be made to the Hospice of St. Mary's, P.O. Box 625, Leonardtown, MD 20650.
