John Houston Penny, Jr., was born January 17, 1932 in Indian Head, MD to John H. Penny Sr. and Annie Violet Queen Penny.
Houston retired after 35 years of service from the Naval Ordnance Station in Indian Head, MD. He loved to tell jokes, ride motorcycles, hunt, fish, and was a successful framer. He was always very helpful and giving to others. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Violet Penny and two sisters, Eula Dunn and Rubina Boschulte. Houston loved his family. He leaves to cherish warm memories his devoted wife: Estelle E. Penny; a brother: Oliver Penny and sister-in-law Renetta Penny, a sister: Donza Milstead and brother-in-law Royce Milstead; five sons: Joseph, Oliver, Michael, James, and John H. Penny III; two daughters: Cynthia Penny, Sylvia Rubina Maull; three step daughters: Clarice Hicks, Robin Hemsley, and Sheila Banks; five daughter-in-laws: Sherry, Debbie, Darlene, Michelle, and Catrina Penny and two son-in-laws: Fred Hemsley, and Toney Maull. Houston leaves a legacy of 20 grandchildren, 21 great-grandchildren, four nieces, two nephews, and a host of family and friends. Family and friends received on Saturday, October 25, 2014 from 9:30AM until the Celebration of Live Service beginning at 11AM at the New Covenant Deliverance Ministries, housed at the Calvary Grace Assembly of God Church, 10774 Charles Street, La Plata, MD 20646.
