Samuel Leroy Canter, Sr., 87, of Aquasco, MD died on October 14, 2014 at the University of MD Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata, MD.

Samuel was a heavy equipment operator for 40 plus years with the Prince George's County Board of Education. He was born and raised in Aquasco, MD. He was an avid motorcycle rider on his Harley Davidson. He loved John Deere tractors, flying, and his dog, "Goldie." He was very proud of his original 1957 Ford Fairlane car and he cherished his wife and son.

He is the son of the late Clinton Theodore Canter and the late Edith Gertrude Cross Canter. He is also predeceased by his wife, Shirley Ann Canter and his brother, Theodore Clinton Canter. He is survived by his son, Samuel L. Canter Jr. and his wife Shannon; and two brothers, Richard Allison Canter and his wife Ann and Paul Barton Canter and his wife Donna.

Friends received on Monday, October 20, 2014 from 5-8PM and where Funeral Services will be held on Tuesday, October 21, 2014 at 11AM at the Raymond Funeral Service Chapel, 5635 Washington Avenue, La Plata, MD 20646. Interment at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.
