John Burt Doing, Jr., of Newburg, Maryland died on Friday, October 10, 2014 at the Genesis Health Care Center in Waldorf, MD. He was 77 years old.

Born on November 18, 1936 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Madeleine Emma Geiger Doing and the late John Burt Doing Sr. Mr. Doing worked at the Matomic Building in Washington, DC for many years as a porter and page. He enjoyed reading murder mysteries, playing Bingo and going to the Clark Senior Center in La Plata. He was also a history and geography buff.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Mary Stuart Fortenberry.

He is survived by his brother Paul Parker Doing; his niece Linda Stuart Minnich and her husband Kris; his nephews Gregory Scott Stuart and Scott Allen Stuart; his great nephews Jake Minnich and Jonathan Scott Stuart.

Visitation on Thursday, October 16, 2014 from 10AM until time of service at 11AM at Holy Ghost Catholic Church 15848 Rock Point Road Newburg, MD 20664. Interment to follow at Holy Ghost Church Cemetery, Issue, Maryland.
