The Calvert County Literacy Council supports and advocates for literacy in Calvert County, Maryland. We provide free literacy tutoring to adult residents of Calvert County. Through one-on-one tutoring, we teach adults to read, write, and speak English proficiently, compute and solve problems, and use technology to function in the family, on the job, and in society. We also provide one-one-one tutoring to adults in Graduate Equivalent Diploma (GED) and External Diploma programs. Typically, we tutor over 100 adults yearly and offer services annually to 100-200 additional families through family literacy programs.

The goal of the Charles County Literacy Council (CCLC) is to provide FREE help to Adult Non-Readers (Adults needing assistance in reading, writing, math and other skills) throughout Charles County. Our goal is to assist our students in reaching their educational goals through one-on-one and small group tutoring. Confidential one-on-one tutoring for adults in reading, writing, math, and English as a Second Language. Tutoring is provided by certified adult volunteer tutors from all walks of life.
