Earning its first-ever back-to-back Region XX championship, CSM's Men's Soccer team has two of the top scorers in the country in Brandon Gross (73 points) and Guil Costa (59 points). Gross and Costa were also named to the 2006 All-Conference First Team for the Maryland Junior College Conference; MDJUCO's All-Conference second team includes Jorge Lopez, Dan Heaney and Gabriel Portillo. Players named to the region's All-Tournament Team are Gross, Costa, Lopez, Heaney, Dan Funk and Cullen McKenzie. "We are very proud of this group of young men and the coaches for competing at such a high level and representing CSM in such a positive way," said Michelle Ruble, assistant director, student life. Ranked 12th in the pre-season National Junior College Athletic Association Division 1 soccer poll, CSM enters the Mid-Atlantic District competition after clinching its regional title last weekend against CCBC-Essex, winning 2-1.
