OFFICERS RECOVER POSSIBLE STOLEN ITEMS: On Feb. 1 at 3:58 a.m., officers were dispatched to the area of Copley Avenue and Stoddert Avenue in Waldorf for the report of a suspicious vehicle. The occupants of a pick-up truck parked their vehicle and went to the backyard of a nearby house. Shortly after, the suspects returned carrying items which they put in the bed of the truck. PFC C. Harris and Sgt. J. Burroughs observed the vehicle and attempted to stop it at Clark Avenue and Garner Avenue, but the driver fled. A passenger threw something out of the truck and then another passenger jumped out. The vehicle stopped further down the road. Officers approached and found a large bag containing marijuana, drug paraphernalia, lawn equipment, and several tool boxes in the truck. Canine officer C. Shaw and his canine partner tracked the occupant who jumped from the truck, but the trail stopped several blocks away. Investigation showed the tools and lawn equipment may have been stolen and officers are pursuing leads to identify the owner. Demetrius Antoine McKinney, 31, of Leonardtown; Eric Lamont Figeroux, Jr., 18, of Waldorf; and Amani Joie Brooks, 28, of Clinton were charged with possession with intent to distribute drugs.
