Posted on The volumes of these overflows were not initially known, but officials estimate they may be in excess of 10,000 gallons each. Because the wastewater was heavily diluted with rainwater, the Department of Utilities said they do not believe that a health hazard exists at the affected sites. The facilities involved are: Pinefield Pump Station 2327 Pinefield Road Waldorf, MD 20601 Bryans Road Pump Station 2714 Adelphi Lane Bryans Road, MD 20616 Indian Head Manor Pump Station 3011 Thomas Road Bryans Road, MD 20616 Bel Alton WWTP 9225 Twinberry Drive Bel Alton, MD 20611 Additionally, rainwater from the storm event flooded the Cliffton Waste Water Treatment Plant final effluent tanks, resulting in the overflow of a mixture of rainwater and fully treated but non-disinfected final effluent into the wooded area surrounding the plant. County officials said the overflow did not contain any raw sewage. The plant is located in Newburg. Return to Headline News
