INDIAN HEAD, Md. - Are teenage girls out of control in Southern Maryland? This fall, several fights broke out at the St. Mary's County Fair courtesy of out-of-control teenage females. On Monday, eighteen police had to respond to Henry E. Lackey High School in Indian Head after four separate fights broke out among teenage females throughout the day.

According to the Charles County Sheriff's Department, on Dec. 11 at 1:30 p.m., Officer J. Clagett was conducting an investigation at the high school when several fights occurred between students.

The first incident to occur while the officer was present was between two girls who began fighting in a hallway. It was ended when the officer and school staff intervened. Immediately following that fight, a second fight occurred between a girl involved in the first fight and two other female students. The officer and school staff intervened again. Shortly thereafter, two other female students began fighting during the change of classes.

Additionally, two other female students were involved in a fight earlier in the day before the officer had arrived.

Eighteen officers responded to the school and assisted during dismissal. Officers were stationed throughout the school to prevent further incidents.

It was reported that school officials plan to take disciplinary action against the students.

Two students have been charged by police in connection with the fights and other charges are pending. Additionally, another student was charged with acting disorderly in the parking lot during the dismissal.

Officer Clagett and Officer D. Savoy are investigating.
