A Toyota Matrix driven by Willis Curry Peel, 74, of Waldorf struck debris from the cruiser. The dump truck then struck a northbound pickup truck driven by Donald Raymond Lloyd, 60, of Fort Washington and overturned. A sixth vehicle took evasive action and struck a curb. The driver of the Cadillac, Shirley Ann Watson, 69, of Waldorf, the officer, Willis and the driver of the sixth vehicle were not injured. Lloyd was flown by a Maryland State Police helicopter to Prince George’s Hospital Center with non-life-threatening injuries. Posey and a passenger in the dump truck sustained minor injuries and were transported by ambulance to Southern Maryland Hospital Center. Cpl. D. Belfield of the Traffic Operations Unit is investigating the crash. |
