Calvert Deputies Respond to Burglary, Disorderly, Assault & DUIs


Burglary

On January 24th, 2005 at 5:20am, Dfc Jeff Elliott responded to Tucker's Sunoco located at 7631 Bayside Rd., Chesapeake Beach, Md for a reported burglary. Investigation revealed, Mark P. Tucker, 38 years old of Prince Frederick, Md. used his elbow to break a window out of the garage door and enter the station. He stole a cash box from the office and fled the area. He was contacted at his home and placed under arrest without incident. He was charged with 2nd Degree burglary and theft. He was taken to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing.


Disorderly Conduct

On January 24th, 2005 at 4:40 pm, Sgt C. Bowen and Dep. M. Jones responded to the area of Educate and Celebrate located in the Calvert Village Shopping Center in Prince Frederick, Md. for a reported disorderly person. They contacted Marvin W. Thomas; 38 years old of Prince Frederick, Md. Thomas had a strong odor of an alcoholic beverage coming from him and was using profanity. He was told to stop cursing but he refused. He pulled a bottle of whiskey from his pocket and threw it into the parking lot. Thomas was placed under arrest and transported to the Calvert County Detention Center for processing. He was charged with Disorderly Conduct.


Destruction of Property/2nd Degree Assault/DUI

On January 26th, 2005 at 1:10am, Dfc Phelps conducted a traffic stop on Rt 261 and Chesapeake Ave., Chesapeake Beach, Md. Based on observations made during the stop the vehicle operator was placed under arrest for DUI. After being placed in the Sheriff's Office vehicle, Vincent G. Brown, 38 years old of Chesapeake Beach, Md. began to kick the dashboard and the windshield. Dfc. Phelps attempted to remove Brown from the vehicle and was kicked in the chest. Brown was then placed in another Patrol car. He was able to kick the rear passenger's side window out of that vehicle. He was transported to the Detention Center where assaulted a Correctional Officer. Brown was charged with DUI, 2nd Degree Assault, and Destruction of Property.


Theft/Recovered Stolen Property

On January 28th, 2005 at 11:05am, Cpl Moschetto conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of Pawnee Lane in Lusby, Md. Based on observations made during the stop, Timothy G. Mackall of Prince Frederick, Md. was placed under arrest for DUI. A computer check of the tags revealed they were stolen from Prince George's County, Maryland and Mackall's privilege to drive in Maryland was suspended and revoked. He was transported to the Calvert County Detention Center where he was charged with DUI, Driving while Suspended and Revoked, and theft of the tags.
