BURGLARY: Sometime between 12:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. on Jan. 7, suspect(s) forced entry into a shed at a residence in the 4000 block of Bicknell Road in Marbury, stole an upright Craftsman battery charger with a handle and two wheels and fled the scene. BURGLARY: Sometime between 12:09 a.m. and 4:30 a.m. on Jan. 6, suspect(s) forced entry into Pisgah Store in the 7000 block of Poor House Road in Pisgah, stole an undisclosed amount of money and a cash register and fled the scene. RECOVERED LOST PERSON: On Jan. 4 at 6:11p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 6600 block of Horseshoe Drive in La Plata for the report of a lost person. Investigation revealed a 47-year-old La Plata man was hiking with a group of people in the woods between Ellenwood and Prospect Hill Farm in La Plata when the mans dog wandered off. The man left the group to find the dog but the dog returned and the man did not. The mans wife notified the Sheriffs Office and patrol officers, community policing officers with all-terrain vehicles, and a Maryland State Police helicopter responded to assist with the search. The man, who kept in contact with his wife via a cell phone throughout the search, was located in a thickly wooded area by the Maryland State Police helicopter. Officers escorted the man out of the woods to a nearby residence. Emergency Medical Services personnel responded to the scene to check the man but he was not injured. Sgt. S. Salvas investigated.
DOMESTIC ASSAULT: On Dec. 31 at 3:20 p.m., Charles County Sheriffs officers responded to a residence in the 9200 block of Montgomery Post Place in Nanjemoy for the report of a domestic dispute. Investigation revealed a 43-year-old Nanjemoy man assaulted a 36-year-old Nanjemoy woman who was holding a baby, and a 17-year-old La Plata boy. The man was charged with two counts of Second Degree Assault and Reckless Endangerment. He is being held at the Charles County Detention Center pending an appearance before the District Court Commissioner. Officer R. Kimble investigating.
