Troop 1782 Christmas Tree Sale
Mechanicsville Lions Club Pavillion
The Friends & Families of Boy Scout Troop 1782 will be selling Christmas trees to benefit the Troop. Trees will be sold @ the Mechanicsville Lions Club Pavillion in the 235 median across from Flora Corner. Trees of different variety and size will be offered. Trees will be sold till Christmas. Lot hours: M-F: 5:30pm - 9pm ; Sat & Sun: 10am-9pm. All profits go directly to the benefit of the boys of Troop 1782.

The Md. Department of Natural Resources (DNR) has tips for picking the perfect holiday tree. Everyone loves a beautifully decorated tree during the holidays -- however if you don’t choose the right one, you may find yourself cleaning up fallen needles before you hang the first ornament! DNR’s Forest Service offers several tips for finding a healthy, long-lasting tree. Look them over before you make your purchase.
When the season has ended, be sure to recycle your tree.  Each County offers a recycling program.
Did you know... Ancient Celtic priests would collect mistletoe from their holy oak tree and offer some as a sacrifice to the gods. Some would be hung up during a ceremony in which people would stand under it and kiss, showing an end to their old grievances with each other.
