The PKD FOUNDATION is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to fund research to find a treatment and a cure for Polycystic Kidney Disease (PKD).
The mission of the PKD FOUNDATION CHAPTERS is to assist, on a regional and local basis, the national efforts of the PKD FOUNDATION to determine the cause, improve clinical treatment and discover a cure for PKD by concentrating on the following five key areas:
The Gift of One Another - Assist patients and family members by encouraging, providing information and listening
Public Awareness - Foster public awareness of PKD and disseminate information about the disease to patients, the public, the medical community and the media
Education - Educate others about PKD by hosting educational forums at various locations throughout the year
Fund-Raising - Attract individuals, corporations and foundations interested in financially supporting PKD research, education, awareness and membership
Action Alert - Help lobby for increased federal funding of PKD research at the National Institutes of Health
The Washington, D.C. Chapter has been created to assist those family members, friends and patients with PKD. Our goal is to educate, inform, and help find the cure for PKD. We will educate, raise public awareness, as well as fund raise to get the word out to other regarding PKD. We welcome new members at anytime!! Come join us in our fight!! WE NEED YOU!!!
