The Calverton School, Southern Maryland's Leader in College Preparatory Education, is an independent, college preparatory school accredited by the Association of Independent Maryland Schools, the National Association of Independent Schools, Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools, and the Maryland State Department of Education. The school is located in rural Huntingtown, Maryland, in close proximity to Washington D.C., Annapolis, and Baltimore. The school enrolls 415 students in grades pre-kindergarten through twelfth grade. Typical class size is fifteen to eighteen students, and the teacher-to-student ratio is one-to-ten. Calverton is a community of learners, providing an innovative, rigorous environment for students and teachers, and an environment that stresses cooperation, respect, and trust.
