Join the students and staff of the Dr. James A. Forrest Career and Technology Center for their annual Breakfast with Santa on Saturday, December 8, 2018, 8:00 to 11:00 a.m., at the school site across from the St. Mary’s County Fairgrounds in Leonardtown. Santa will make his grand entrance at 8:30 a.m.

Enjoy a delicious breakfast prepared by the Forrest Center’s Culinary Arts students. Admission to this event, which includes breakfast, is $10 for adults, $5 for students and free for children 3 and younger. An omelet bar is available for an additional $2.00.

Escape the hustle and bustle of the holiday, enjoy some home cooking, and let the little ones check out the face painting, gingerbread cookie and craft rooms. Santa’s Workshop will be available for children to purchase small gifts (most under $10). Forrest Center students will assist the children. The gifts they purchase will be wrapped.

Remember to get a photo of your child letting Santa know their holiday wishes. If you forget your camera, students from the Forrest Center will photograph your child with Santa for $5. Families may receive up to five poses on a CD.

Proceeds will benefit the Forrest Center’s SkillsUSA chapter and student programs. The Forrest Center’s SkillsUSA chapter is among the most successful in the state and annually must fundraise over $25,000 to cover the cost of leadership training, chapter activities and regional, state & national competitions. For more information about SkillsUSA, go to: www.skillsusa.org.

The event may be recorded and presented on SMCPS Channel 96, the school system’s cable channel, and the Internet. For more information, contact Chef Amanda Granados at 301-475-0242, x28210 or aegranados@smcps.org.

The Chesapeake Choral Arts Society proudly presents our 3rd annual Renaissance Christmas concert weekend! Performing in period dress, we will take you back to the time of great feasts in great halls with the joy and merriment of the Christmas Season. With our Procession of the Court into the Banquet Hall with Masters in This Hall you will transported to the world of Elizabethan England. There will also be some well-known Christmas carols and other holiday songs to put you in the Spirit of the Season.
This year’s performance will feature Benjamin Britten’s ‘Ceremony of Carols’. This beautiful choral piece was inspired by medieval poetry and also incorporates elements of Gregorian chant. The Ceremony of Carols will be accompanied by harpist, Jacqueline Pollauf. Ms. Pollauf holds degrees from the Peabody Conservatory and is on the faculty of Baltimore School for the Arts and the University of Maryland, Baltimore County. She has received awards from the Maryland State Arts Council and Chamber Music America. She recently was praised for playing with a “transcendent ability” (The Sybaritic Singer) after premiering a new work for harp and voice at Carnegie Hall in New York City.
There will be three performances of the Renaissance Christmas concert:
The first performance on Thursday, December 6th will be a benefit concert for the Peace Lutheran Church Food Pantry. There is no cost to attend this modified performance, but a contribution will be greatly appreciated. There will also be a cookie sale sponsored by Peace Lutheran. The concert begins at 7:30 pm.
The concert on Saturday, December 8th will include a full dinner (choice of ham, turkey with stuffing or vegetarian lasagna) and dessert. Seating is limited for the dinner concert and must be reserved in advance. Tickets for the Dinner concert are $40 for adults and $35 for seniors, students and Military with ID. Order your tickets now so you don’t miss it! The audience should be seated by 6:30 pm for this 7 pm concert.
The Sunday, December 9th performance will be a concert followed by a dessert reception. This concert will begin at 3:30 pm. Tickets for the Sunday Dessert concert are $15 for adults and $12 for seniors, students and Military with ID. Advance ticket purchase recommended.

It’s a Wonderful Life is the tale of George Bailey. George lived a life filled with triumphs and trials, love and loss, but most of all a life lived for others. This is the story of how in his darkest hour an angel in training comes to show him the way and remind him that every life has meaning. It's not only a joyful Christmas tale—it's the gorgeous love story of George and Mary Bailey, a vivid portrait of the Greatest Generation, a descent into the darkest hour of a man trapped by circumstance, and a powerful meditation on what makes a meaningful life.

Tickets available twinbeachplayers.org/, $15 general, $12 seniors/military/students.
