Help the Southern Maryland Teen Girl Anti-Bullying Program Win a $25,000 Grant and Vote Now
Southern Maryland. (Aug. 18)—Communities across the United States answered the call from State Farm® to submit causes that would make a positive impact in their neighborhoods. Now The Dream Queen Foundation needs your help by voting for them to bring money to the community. From Aug. 16 through Aug. 25, anyone with a valid email address can vote for their cause, the Southern Maryland Teen Girl Anti-Bullying Program, at www.neighborhoodassist.com/entry/1997211 to help them win a $25,000 grant which is awarded to each of the top 40 vote-getters.
Our cause seeks to facilitate an Anti-Bullying Campaign & Program in local middle and high schools to educate students. By providing them with a safe place to share, get to know themselves, celebrate successes, overcome obstacles, learn from role models, and take action in the direction of their big dreams and goals, we hope they understand their value and worth. The schools need assistance; stretched thin on resources to execute, they require community partnership.

Date: 8/25/2017

Brothers Osborne, recent winner of the “Vocal Duo of the Year” at the 50th CMA Awards, will perform live at the Calvert Marine Museum’s PNC Waterside Pavilion on Friday, August 25 at 7:30 p.m. Gates open at 6 p.m. The dynamic duo will perform a sensational show packed with hits, including chart toppers, “It Ain’t My Fault,” “Stay A Little Longer,” and “21 Summer.”

Don't miss this opportunity to see Brothers Osborne perform live in Solomons! Tickets are $35-$55 (additional fees apply) and go on sale to members of the Calvert Marine Museum on Tuesday, May 9 at 10 a.m., and on sale to the general public Tuesday, May 16 at 10 a.m. If you are not a member of the museum and would like an opportunity to buy the best seats in the house, visit www.calvertmarinemuseum.com or call 410-326-2042, ext. 16 to sign up before tickets go on sale.

Two sons from a working class family, John and TJ Osborne grew up in Deale, Maryland writing and playing songs for friends and family in their father’s shed. John (guitar) moved to Nashville first to play in other bands and two years later, TJ (vocals/guitar) joined him. It was then they formed Brothers Osborne as a twang-and-crunch duo that blends equal parts country and rock into one of the freshest, most identifiable sounds to come out of Nashville in recent years. The singer/songwriter siblings have been featured on several “One’s to Watch” lists including Rolling Stone, Billboard, Paste, Country Weekly, Nashville Lifestyles and Spotify. This fall, the Brothers Osborne embarked on their first-headlining run, The Dirt Rich Tour, after previously touring with Eric Church, Little Big Town and Miranda Lambert.

Proceeds from the Waterside Music Series support the education and preservation efforts of the Calvert Marine Museum. This series of events would not be possible without the generous support of many local businesses. Sponsors include: Prince Frederick Ford/Jeep/Dodge, PNC Bank, Bozick Distributors, Inc., Tidewater Dental, Sunshines Catering, Directmail.com, Holiday Inn Solomons, Quality Built Homes, 98.3 Star FM, Bay Weekly, Quick Connections, Southern Maryland Newspapers, Isaac’s Restaurant, Papa John’s Pizza, O’Brien Realty, American Eagle Electric, Sherry Carter, United Rentals, Kelly Generator & Equipment, Comcast, Metrocast, ECS Federal, Blue Crabs, TitleMax LLC., World Gym, and Asbury-Solomons.
