Members of the St. Mary’s County Master Gardeners Bay Wise program and the Watershed Restoration Program will show how you can help keep the Chesapeake Bay healthy with gardening techniques and watershed activities.
There will be an area for the public to play traditional games, make crafts, and eat free watermelon. Enjoy music by local guitarist, Joe Norris, from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
On the mainland, the National Park Service’s Chesapeake Roving Ranger van will be on the museum grounds to talk about the benefits of local wildlife.

Every day, more than 90 Americans are shot and killed and hundreds more are wounded by gun violence. The first weekend in June, Americans from all walks of life will come together to Wear Orange and use our voices to demand a future free of gun violence. Join us at Great Mills High School on June 2 for a Wear Orange Family Potluck Picnic. Come out from 3-5pm and enjoy this fun community event with your family. And be sure to wear orange, or teal, as we will also be memorializing the local loss from gun violence. Inspired by student activists from Chicago, National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange are a celebration of life and a call to action to help save lives. Whether it’s worn by hunters in the woods of Pennsylvania or activists right here in Maryland, orange symbolizes the value of human life and reminds us that we are united by our shared hope that we can create a safer country for all Americans—and not just some. To join the fourth annual National Gun Violence Awareness Day and Wear Orange please visit¬†wearorange.org.
